SMALL DETAILS THAT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE. 

The outside top “face” of our cover is made from certified organic cotton stretch knit matelasse. Unlike a lot of “organic cotton” fabrics, we don’t use any blended synthetics. Just pure 100% organic cotton.

Our quilt backing, often referred to as “scrim”, is also 100% organic cotton. Most mattresses use a synthetic polyester backing for this unseen fabric, but we just couldn’t skimp on the scrim.

In between the organic cotton fabrics, we quilt certified organic wool for comfort and temperature regulation. Our wool is also a natural fire barrier, so we don’t have to use toxic FR chemicals.

Our cover also features a protective flap, sometimes called the “flange”. This additional quilted inner covering is attached to the entire perimeter, and helps keep the latex from snagging on the zipper. This extra layer is also an additional barrier preventing air from going through the zipper, which helps protect your latex from oxidation.

We’re not afraid to show you what’s inside our mattress, so we added a heavy duty brass zipper for you to adjust or replace components whenever you need to make a change.

My-Side-Your-Side Custom Comfort options, Reverse-Flip Firmness, Lifetime-Comfort Correction, and even replaceable mattress casing – because we know accidents can happen! Our mattresses are built to last using SOLID latex — absolutely NO innerspring coils or cheap foams that can break down sooner.

Our mattresses are made from three ingredients: organic cotton and organic wool quilting with GOLS certified organic latex – absolutely no toxic chemicals or flame retardants – so you can sleep organic.

Back in 2007, we designed all of our mattresses to feature Reverse-Flip Comfort. As a direct to consumer manufacturer, we knew it made sense to offer our customers two different comfort choices right out of the box, especially since most were ordering from our paper catalog or website.

True story: Not long after we created our Reverse-Flip, we had a customer call us. He had our plush Embrace Mattress and was going through therapy for a back injury. He called to order a firmer mattress from us, and we said “Just flip it over!”. He was thrilled it was so easy and he saved money. We were thrilled because he was happy.

We remember the days a Doctor had to prescribe an organic mattress made without wool. We had folders filled with faxed prescriptions from doctors all over the country.

In 2009 that changed when we introduced our VEGAN option on all CozyPure mattresses. We were one of the first bedding manufacturers to work with PLA as a wool batting substitute and it’s a great fiber alternative for the Vegan lifestyle. Now you can order an organic mattress without wool and without an Rx. Just choose “VEGAN OPTION: No Wool” on any of our mattresses.

PLA is a biodegradable polymer derived from starch-rich plants (like potatoes), which provides a lot of the same comfort and benefits as wool, and the durability of a synthetic without the toxic-laden chemicals.
