Two years ago, I made a last-minute trip and went to visit my son while he was in Portugal. During my limited stay there, we spent a day walking along the rugged Atlantic coastline of Porto. We didn’t realize it at the time, but we were walking the Litoral Way (Senda Litoral)—a coastal route of the Portuguese Camino, one of the revered pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela. What I did know was that it was one of my favorite days… ever.

There was something beautifully uncomplicated about that day: just the two of us, the ocean at our side, the salty breeze in our hair, and the rhythm of our feet keeping pace with our thoughts. We walked about 16 kilometers that afternoon (about 11 km on the trail), not in a hurry, just immersed in our surroundings—and each other’s company.

As the sun dipped low in the sky, we stumbled upon a tiny local cheese shop tucked away from the tourist path. The woman who owned it prepared a simple, perfect feast: sliced cheeses and cured meats, crusty breads, fresh plums, briny olives, and a bottle of Port wine (of course). We ended our day with a sunset picnic, the sky glowing gold and coral while we savored the flavors, the moment, the connection, and the simple journey we experienced together, while in the distance someone played music in the park.

It’s funny how the most meaningful experiences often find us unexpectedly. That one perfect day planted a quiet seed in me. And now, I feel called to return—to walk the entire Camino. Not just for the adventure, but for the space it creates. The space to breathe, to reflect, to move with intention.

In many ways, the Camino reflects what I’ve always tried to create with CozyPure. It’s not just about where you sleep—it’s about how you live. The quality of your rest mirrors the quality of your days. Just like the Camino, CozyPure invites you to slow down. To simplify. To be present. To surround yourself with what nourishes you—whether it’s the right sleep surface or a moment shared over a humble picnic.

Both journeys—on the trail and in our bedrooms—are ultimately about alignment: with our bodies, with nature, with what really matters.

So here’s to the path ahead—whether it’s made of cobblestones or organic cotton. Whether you’re walking the Camino or turning down the covers, may you always find comfort in the journey.

Love,
Cheryl xo
